GOSNELLS, London’s only mead maker, has launched its gently sparkling 5.5% ABV mead in a new size, with new packaging and a yet more refined recipe.

The new 75cl bottle format will retail at c.£10-12 a bottle in shops, or c.£20-25 a bottle in restaurants. It is gluten free, and best served chilled in Champagne flutes or white wine glasses.

Using the finest orange blossom honey as its base, Gosnells is made from just honey, water and time. It is a thoroughly modern mead - light, crisp and sparkling – but with the elegance of sparkling wine, or of ‘Petillant Naturel’ wines.

This natural product has already been dubbed Peckham’s answer to Prosecco – by its SE15 fans.

Mead sales in the UK and the USA are buoyant, with the American Mead Makers’ Association estimating that a new mead maker opens every other day worldwide.

Founder Tom Gosnell announced: “Mead’s time has come. We’re aiming to build on our success with this new format and continue to drive sales in the UK and abroad”
